We’ve Built Las Vegas

Three Generations of Quality and Performance

If you drive on the Las Vegas Strip, you will pass some of the most recognizable buildings in the world:

The MGM Grand, Caesars Palace, Venetian, Palazzo, and the Stratosphere Tower. The common connection between all these amazing properties is that they were constructed by Taylor International Corp. Taylor’s name has been intertwined with the development of Las Vegas and Southern Nevada for the past 75 years.

Taylor International’s story starts when Morry Mason acquired the company in 1940 while acting as the Architectural Engineer for Taylor Construction. Morry began by building many of Miami’s legendary hotels, including the Fontainebleau, Eden Roc, Savoy, Raleigh, and Delano. Working with the legendary Morris Lapidus, together they designed and built the iconic South Florida Art Deco architecture and luxury for which South Miami Beach became synonymous. In 1954, Morry came to Las Vegas to build the Riviera Hotel. Ten years later, he moved Taylor to Las Vegas for the construction of Caesars Palace, and it has been the permanent home of Taylor International and the Mason family ever since.

Subsequent to Ceasars Palace, Stuart Mason (Morry’s son) expanded upon Morry’s tradition. Over a span of 25 years, Stuart built the largest and most innovative hotels in the world. Stuart, through Taylor International, added to Taylor’s resume by constructing The International (Formerly the Hilton, now the Westgate), the MGM Grand Hotel (now The Horseshoe), The MGM Grand Reno (now the Grand Sierra), MGM Grand Hotel, Casino & Theme Park, and the Venetian/Palazzo Casino Resort. Taylor International achieved the unequaled status of having built the largest hotel in the world not once, but four times.

Today, Taylor International is headed by brothers Jim and Bill Mason. Together they are furthering the company’s legacy, which has always been grounded in core values of loyalty, respect, professionalism, integrity, and quality workmanship.
